Patriots Picked Between This Team, Falcons In Matthew Judon Trade

The Bears made an offer

The New England Patriots had options when deciding where they wanted to send disgruntled star Matthew Judon.

Judon, who ultimately landed with the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was subject of interest around the NFL. The Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans reportedly were also involved in trade discussions, with the former even making an offer.

Chicago also offered a third-round pick for Judon, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic.

The Patriots’ decision ultimately came down to who they believed would finish with a worse record in 2024-25. The Bears, after making improvements across the board this offseason, evidently were not as attractive a trade partner as the Falcons, who also made large-scale changes.

ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler also reported on the Texans and Bears interest.

Houston and Tennessee likely never made it as far as to actually make an offer, as their position in the AFC likely turned New England away.
