Judon was present at practice Thursday
One of the big themes for the Patriots this offseason has been players receiving extensions, and another key piece agreed to a deal this week.
Matthew Judon still is waiting on his revised deal, but Davon Godchaux reportedly agreed to a two-year extension with New England. The defensive tackle admitted Thursday he was grateful to get his deal done and secure the guaranteed money he was seeking.
The news of Godchaux’s extension came soon after Judon called out a report stating the Patriots had made an offer to him. It’s an issue head coach Jerod Mayo played down and one Godchaux hopes gets resolved.
“I still want to see my brother Matthew Judon get his contract,” Godchaux told reporters. “We all know it’s a business. But we all pulling for him. He’s been established with us for the past few years. I would love to keep playing with him, but we all know it’s a business.”
Godchaux added: “I’m sure him and his agent are gonna come through. That’s our brother. That’s one of us. He’s been with us on Sundays. I would love to see him get his contract. If it happens, it happens. It’s all love. We keeping moving.”
Judon participated in practice Thursday, but New England did put on pads. It will be a wait-and-see if the star pass rusher maintains his attendance when the pads are back on after he missed a padded practice Tuesday.
