Red Sox Vs. Astros Lineups: Wilyer Abreu, Dominic Smith Return

Abreu homered thrice in Texas

The Red Sox will kickstart another homestand Friday, as they meet the Houston Astros to begin a six-game stretch at Fenway Park.

Wilyer Abreu and Dominic Smith will return to the fold for Boston, with right-handed pitcher Ronel Blanco on the bump for Houston.

Abreu will bat second, while Smith re-enters batting sixth.

Jarren Duran, Abreu, Masataka Yoshida and Rafael Devers give the Red Sox a heavy presence of left-handed bats at the top of the order, before Connor Wong, Smith, Nick Sogard, Ceddanne Rafaela and David Hamilton give them some variety.

Yoshida will slide up from the seven hole to bat third, while Sogard and Rafaela each bump up one spot with David Hamilton — another left-handed addition from their lineup Wednesday — batting ninth.

The Red Sox and Astros are scheduled to take the field at Fenway Park at 7:10 p.m. ET on NESN, following pregame coverage starting at 5:30 p.m.. We’ve got the projected lineups here.
