Red Sox Vs. Blue Jays Lineups: Rafael Devers Sits As Boston Seeks Turnaround

Romy Gonzalez starts at 3B

The Boston Red Sox have to find a way to turn their losing ways around as they fall further behind in the playoff standings. They did not help that cause on Monday after getting swept by the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Red Sox and Blue Jays continue their series on Tuesday night as Boston looks to snap a four-game (five-game counting the continuation) losing streak. Slugger Rafael Devers gets a night off for Boston, leaving Romy Gonzalez to get the start at third base. Elsewhere, Danny Jansen will catch and bat eighth and Triston Casas moves to the cleanup spot at first base.

Boston sends right-hander Cooper Criswell to the mound. He allowed just one earned run across 4 2/3 innings in his last start on Aug. 21 against the Houston Astros. The Red Sox righty is 5-4 on the season with a 4.41 ERA in 20 appearances.

The Blue Jays counter with Yariel Rodriguez, who enters at 1-5 with a 4.33 ERA in 15 starts. Rodriguez started the game on June 26 against Boston that resumed on Monday in a Blue Jays victory.

You can catch Tuesday’s game on NESN with first pitch at 7:10 p.m. ET, following an hour of pregame coverage.
