Simone Biles Took This Issue With Reporters At Paris Olympics

Biles wants to soak in the moment

Simone Biles wants to live in the present as she competes in her third Olympic Games.

Biles has commanded significant media attention in Paris, where she’s added four medals — three golds and one silver — to her remarkable list of accolades as of Sunday. But many reporters have been interested in talking about the future with the 27-year-old, who might be finished with Olympic competition once things wrap up in France.

Other athletes have fielded similar questions at these Summer Games, which prompted Biles to take a complaint to social media Sunday.

“You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics,” Biles posted to X. “Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for.”

It’s easy to understand why fans and media members alike are so curious about what the future might hold for Biles. The all-time great gymnast could make more history in her sport by competing in the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will be held on American soil in Los Angeles.

But that will have to be a conversation for another day. For now, Biles understandably wants to take in everything the Paris Olympics stage has to offer.
