The internet sure had its fun with Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh after a borderline bizarre interaction between the New York Jets quarterback and head coach.
The two had an awkward hug situation after Rodgers and the Jets scored their second touchdown of the night en route to an easy 24-3 win over the Patriots on "Thursday Night Football." As Rodgers came to the sideline, Saleh looked like he was going in for some sort of hug, while Rodgers seemingly pushed back, literally and figuratively, while saying something to his coach.
Each was given a chance to explain following the game.
"Yeah, part of the things that we've been talking about is just getting the defense a two-score lead," Saleh told reporters in a postgame press conference. "And it was a two-score lead, so I guess he just wanted to see something on defense. He was just reminding me that we had a two-score lead."

Uh, OK …
Rodgers, unsurprisingly, was defensive about the whole thing.
"No, there was nothing awkward at all," he insisted in his postgame briefing.
"I don't know. He's not a big hugger usually so I didn't know he was going for the hug. He likes to do the two-hand chest push, as well. But he talks a lot about two-score leads, so I just kind of gave him a push and said 'Two-score lead.' That's what happened."

So, apparently it was a joke? Or Rodgers was just super-locked in? With all due respect to the four-time MVP, who had his best performance in years Thursday night, we're gonna go with "awkward" for this one.
