Jalen Reagor was released by the Patriots
Jalen Reagor seems to view himself in a better light than the New England Patriots did.
The Patriots on Tuesday announced they released the fifth-year wide receiver from the practice squad. Reagor failed to make the team’s initial 53-man roster after training camp and was not elevated for either of New England’s first two contests.
Reagor’s release was announced a few hours after he posted a meme to social media hinting he was better than the situation he found himself in.

Might Reagor’s post ultimately have led to the release? The timing makes it a fair question.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Reagor 21st overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he has failed to live up to his first-round billing. Reagor joined the Patriots in 2023 after two seasons in Philadelphia and one with the Minnesota Vikings. He caught seven passes for 138 yards in 11 games and was primarily used on special teams.
The Patriots have Ja’Lynn Polk, DeMario Douglas, K.J. Osborn, Tyquan Thornton, Javon Baker and Kayshon Boutte on their 53-man roster. Kendrick Bourne is on New England’s physically unable to perform (PUP) list and eligible to return after Week 4.
