Jacoby Brissett Believes Patriots’ Offensive Line Will ‘Settle In’

Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett was given every right to lose trust in his offensive line through three weeks.

Brissett has faced the highest pressure rate (46.4%) in the NFL so far this season, according to PFF, being sacked nine times in three games. Chukwuma Okorafor, Vederian Lowe, Caedan Wallace, Michael Jordan, David Andrews, Layden Robinson and Mike Onwenu (they deserve to be called out by name) haven’t given him much of a chance at all, but he’s still keeping the faith.

“It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s coming,” Brissett said Wednesday, per team-provided video. “It’s about going out there — keep battling, keep putting your best foot forward and trusting the process. When it clicks, it clicks. My confidence hasn’t changed in the O-line, they’re going to settle in. It’s a week-to-week game, and if we put our best foot forward we’ll be alright.”

Sure.

The Patriots undoubtedly hope Brissett is right, as better protection seemingly is one of the prerequisites before Drake Maye is handed the reins. It’s also going to be necessary if New England hopes to stay competitive this season.
