Is C.J. Mosley going to play Thursday?
The New York Jets appear to be displaying a bit of gamesmanship prior to their matchup with the New England Patriots on Thursday.
C.J. Mosley’s game status is questionable in more ways than one.
New York revealed a couple of game statuses Wednesday, with pass-rusher Jermaine Johnson II serving as the only player to officially be ruled out. Mosley was listed as questionable, which is surprising to many considering he hasn’t practiced all week and hasn’t found ways to reduce swelling in his injured toe.
Mosley was actually carted off the field in the Jets’ victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
The Patriots, of course, would love to know whether or not one of the league’s most prolific linebackers will be on the field on a short week, but they’re getting no indication based on the injury report provided by their AFC East rival.
The NFL is said to be cracking down on incorrect injury reports this season, as the San Francisco 49ers were investigated for suspect reporting on Christian McCaffrey leading up to their season-opining victory over… the Jets. It’s nearly impossible to prove a team was lying on an injury report, and those league investigations are more of a formality than anything, but there’s no doubt New York made an odd decision to designate Mosley as questionable.
