Patriots-49ers Inactives: San Francisco Not As Shorthanded As Once Expected

Plus: New England is without a starting defender

The San Francisco 49ers won’t be as shorthanded as previously expected when they host the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

Both 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel and star left tackle Trent Williams are active for the Week 4 contest. Samuel, who was expected to miss multiple games and was inactive in Week 3, and Williams were listed as questionable. George Kittle, who also missed Week 3, was a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Niners running back Christian McCaffrey remains on injured reserve.

Meanwhile, the Patriots will be without starting linebacker and pivotal run defender Anfernee Jennings. Jennings is dealing with a shoulder injury.

New England cornerback Jonathan Jones, left guard Sidy Sow and offensive tackle Caedan Wallace all are active after being deemed questionable. It will mark the first game of the season for Sow, who suffered an injury in New England’s preseason finale. Sow is expected to serve as the starting left guard and replace Michael Jordan, who is inactive due to a knee injury.
