Nick Bosa is keeping New England up at night
The San Francisco 49ers are loaded with talent, which means the Patriots will have plenty of stars to contend with on Sunday.
Nick Bosa is different, though.
“He’s a nightmare,” Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said Thursday, per Alex Barth of 98.5 The Sports Hub. “Great player. Generational player. Speed. Power. All of it. We have to make sure we don’t let him ruin the game for us, he is that kind of player.”
New England is right to be so terrified.
Bosa is one of the very best defenders in football, racking up 55.5 sacks, 75 tackles for loss, four Pro Bowl selections and the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in his five-plus seasons. The 49ers rewarded him with a five-year, $170 million contract extension a couple of years back and have only seen the 26-year-old raise his level of play to start this season.
The Patriots, on the other hand, have the worst offensive line in all of football and could be rolling with their fourth different left tackle in four weeks. It’s entirely possible that things get messy Sunday.
