The GOAT wasn't pleased with David Andrews
David Andrews grew into his own with the New England Patriots as one of the current veterans and a staple across regimes of the offensive line in Foxboro.
That experience grew over time, including a number of instances that shaped the veteran center that he can laugh at years later in his Patriots career. Andrews recently shared a story from an in-stadium practice for fans at Gillette Stadium in his rookie season in 2015. Working with then-four-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady, Andrews had a slip up with quite the crowd looking on.
“I thought Tom was under center, but he was in the shotgun,” Andrews recalled, per team social media. “I snapped the ball, and it just fell right between my feet. We both had to run a lap. People were cheering because Tom was running a lap near them and he was just yelling at me the whole time. It was pretty tough.”
Andrews and Brady eventually found chemistry to keep the dynasty going for the Patriots, winning Super Bowl LI and Super Bowl LIII over the first four seasons together in New England.
Now, Brady prepares to broadcast the Week 4 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while Andrews and the Patriots head west to visit the reigning NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.
