Patriots Injury Report: Good News Emerges On Standout Defender

The 49ers got good news as well

Anfernee Jennings participating in Thursday’s New England Patriots practice, even just on a limited basis, was a welcomed sight.

The fourth-year linebacker didn’t take partake in practice Wednesday due to a shoulder ailment but being upgraded a day later on the injury report showed Jennings is making progress toward trying to play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The status of the Patriots offensive line is still worrisome as they might be forced to start a fourth left tackle in as many games. Vederian Lowe didn’t practice Thursday due to a lingering knee injury while Caedan Wallace (knee) was a limited participant. Guard Michael Jordan (ankle) also was absent from practice.

Here is the Patriots full injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
CB Alex Austin (ankle)
G Michael Jordan (ankle)
T Vederian Lowe (knee)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
CB Christian Gonzalez (shoulder)
TE Hunter Henry (ankle)
LB Anfernee Jennings (shoulder)

The 49ers also received good news — probably even better than New England’s — with their injury report. Star wide receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) was a limited participant in practice after missing Wednesday’s session. Left tackle Trent Williams, who also didn’t practice Wednesday, was back to work Thursday after dealing with an illness.

Here is the full 49ers injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
WR Jacob Cowing (illness)
DT Javon Hargrave (triceps)

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
DT Jordan Elliott (foot)
TE George Kittle (hamstring)
LB Curtis Robinson (knee)

The Patriots look to snap a two-game losing skid against the 49ers. Kickoff from Levi’s Stadium is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
