Patriots Injury Report: Key Position Group In Rough Shape Ahead Of Jets Game

The Patriots offensive line is very banged up

Things look bleak for the New England Patriots offensive line ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the New York Jets.

All five offensive line starters for the Patriots popped up on Tuesday’s injury report with New England practicing for the only time this week. Left tackle Vederian Lowe, who replaced Chukwuma Okorafor, and guard Sidy Sow did not take part in the practice session. Sow has yet to play this season as he deals with the ankle injury.

Center David Andrews (hip), right tackle Mike Onwenu (wrist) and right guard Layden Robinson (shoulder) were all limited participants. Andrews being limited actually was good news as the longtime Patriots captain was listed as a non-participant on Monday’s projected injury report.

Here is the full Patriots injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, Shoulder
T Vederian Lowe, Knee
G Sidy Sow, Ankle
LB Oshane Ximines, Knee

LIMITED PARTICIPATION
C David Andrews, Hip

The Patriots offensive line won’t have to deal with linebacker Jermaine Johnson, who recorded 7.5 sacks last season. Johnson confirmed he’s out for the season with an Achilles injury. The Jets also might be without stout linebacker C.J. Mosley due to a toe injury.

The Patriots and Jets are both aiming to go to 2-1 this season. Kickoff from MetLife Stadium is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
