Patriots Offense Makes Expected Change Before Seahawks Matchup

Vederian Lowe is back with the starters

The Patriots made a minor personnel tweak Wednesday, but one that was about as obvious as it gets.

New England rolled with a starting offensive line combination of left tackle Vederian Lowe, left guard Michael Jordan, center David Andrews, right guard Layden Robinson and right tackle Mike Onwenu during its first practice session of the week.

Lowe played left tackle in Sunday’s road victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, but before you start yelling at your screen, just remember what happened before that. Chukwuma Okorafor practiced the entire week prior and started the game on the blindside before eventually being lifted for poor performance.

Lowe’s reinsertion into the starting lineup was expected, as he only fell out of it due to an oblique injury that sidelined him for a couple of weeks. Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf said he believed the 25-year-old could “ascend” into that starting role during the offseason.

He’s ascended, but he’ll have to continue being the best option if he wants to keep that job. The Patriots have little room left for error along the offensive line.
