Patriots Star Gets Drug Tested After Dominant Performance Vs. Bengals

Keion White has gained the attention of the league's office

New England Patriots defensive lineman Keion White received one of the National Football League’s highest honors: a reactionary drug test.

Less than 24 hours after White dominated the Cincinnati Bengals en route to a 16-10 win at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, the second-year defender was selected for the league’s “random” drug-testing program. It was yet another example of the NFL’s random testing appearing anything but random.

“The boys got me on my day off,” White captioned a photo of the drug test on his Instagram account.

White was among the most impactful Patriots as he finished with 2 1/2 sacks on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. White finessed Cincinnati offensive tackle Trent Brown for a sack on the second play of the game, bullied Cincinnati guard Alex Cappa for a half sack in the first half and then was in the right place at the right time for a full sack on Burrow late in the contest.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound White entered the campaign as one of New England’s pivotal young players and seems to have gained the attention of those outside Foxboro, Mass.
