Boston plays the penultimate game of the season Saturday
The Red Sox play their penultimate game of the regular season Saturday, and they’ll hope to bounce back against the Rays.
Tampa Bay took the series opener against Boston at Fenway Park on Friday. It was Nick Pivetta’s last start of the season, but the offense wasn’t able to lift the starter in the 2-1 loss.
Manager Alex Cora will mix things up Saturday with Tyler O’Neill back in the starting lineup. He’ll patrol left field and bat fourth ahead of Mickey Gasper, who will start at designated hitter over Masataka Yoshida. Romy González starts at third base, and Danny Jansen rotates in at catcher.
Kutter Crawford will try to cap off his breakout season with a positive result in his final start of the season.
First pitch for Red Sox-Rays is scheduled at 4:10 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.
