Kendrick Lamar isn't a stranger to the Super Bowl
The hours leading up to the 2024 NFL season’s Week 1 slate provided a flurry of news.
From Tyreek Hill’s run-in with law enforcement to Dak Prescott’s reported contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, football fans were presented with no shortage of headlines before Sunday’s early afternoon action. That time slot also provided a significant Super Bowl LIX announcement, with Kendrick Lamar revealing he will perform at Caesars Superdome in February.
This won’t be the first time Lamar performs at halftime of a Super Bowl. The West Coast rapper joined Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blidge and others for a memorable Super Bowl LVI performance at SoFi Stadium in 2022. Time will tell if Lamar brings his own guests to the Bayou for The Big Game in five months.
It also remains to be seen which teams will be competing in Super Bowl LIX. Heading into the first week of the regular season, the two-time defending Kansas City Chiefs and reigning NFC champion San Francisco 49ers had the shortest odds at FanDuel Sportsbook to win it all.
