Kansas City might not be the best team in its conference
Once the dust settled on Week 7, there only was one unbeaten team left in the NFL.
The Minnesota Vikings suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the NFC North rival Detroit Lions, the league’s other-one less team entering Week 8. The Kansas City Chiefs, meanwhile, maintained their unblemished record by coming out on top in a Super Bowl LVIII (and LIV) rematch in San Francisco.
Kansas City’s 6-0 record speaks for itself, but are we absolutely sure that the two-time defending champions currently are the best team in the league?
It’s a question NESN’s Travis Thomas and George Balekji answered on the latest episode of “Boston Has Entered The Chat.” In addition to offering their blunt assessments of Patrick Mahomes and company, Thomas and Balekji took stock of Kansas City’s strongest competition for the Lombardi Trophy next February. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens are starting to look like a juggernaut, and Dan Campbell’s Lions might be ready to get over the hump this season after falling just short of Super Sunday in the 2023 campaign.
