The Bruins' top six will get some run Tuesday night
There’s going to be a regular-season feel to the top six for the Bruins on Tuesday night, including the debuts of both the captain and a highly touted newcomer.
Boston announced its roster for Tuesday night’s preseason game against Philadelphia (6 p.m. ET, NESN), and both Brad Marchand and Elias Lindholm will get their first taste of preseason action for the Black and Gold at TD Garden.
It’s a significant step for Marchand, who underwent a few offseason surgeries to address various nagging injuries. He recently returned to practice, adding a welcomed spark to the practice sessions at Warrior Ice Arena.
He’ll be joined by Lindholm, who will make his debut after signing a long-term contract this summer. He’s been dealing with an undisclosed injury during camp, and his family also welcomed a new child late last month.
Charlie Coyle will also make his preseason debut.
Here’s the Bruins’ roster for Tuesday night’s game vs. the Flyers.
Forwards: Johnny Beecher, Justin Brazeau, Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, Morgan Geekie, Tyler Johnson, Mark Kastelic, Cole Koepke, Elias Lindholm, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Jeffrey Viel, Pavel Zacha
Defensemen: Brandon Carlo, Hampus Lindholm, Mason Lohrei, Charlie McAvoy, Jordan Oesterle, Andrew Peeke, Nikita Zadorov
Goalies: Brandon Bussi, Michael DiPietro
One day after head coach Jim Montgomery revealed Joonas Korpisalo will start in goal for the season opener with the Jeremy Swayman contract situation unresolved, Brandon Bussi will get the nod as he states his case to break camp as the backup goalie.
