Chiefs Or Vikings? Picking NFL’s Best Remaining Unbeaten Team

Minnesota and Kansas City enter Week 5 at 4-0

The NFL reached the rough quarter mark of its 2024 regular season last week, but there are only two undefeated teams left.

There probably aren’t many football fans and media members alike who are surprised to see the Chiefs as one of the final unbeaten teams. Patrick Mahomes and company have a knack for finding ways to win, even when they aren’t playing their best football. Kansas City does deserve credit for overcoming a few key injuries, though, as well as not suffering at all from Travis Kelce’s modest production to date.

The other 4-0 team is far more surprising. The Vikings feature a very impressive roster with great talent on both sides of the football, but few expected Sam Darnold to play at the level he has thus far in his first season in Minnesota. Darnold led the league in passing touchdowns entering Week 5 with 11, three more than the next signal-caller on the list.

So, which of the two remaining unbeaten clubs is the better team?

NESN’s George Balekji and Travis Thomas tackled that question on the latest episode of “Foxboro Rush.” There certainly are cases to be made for both Minnesota and Kansas City, but Balekji and Thomas ended up coming to an agreement.
