Maye entered the locker room midway through the second quarter with a head injury
FOXBORO, Mass. — Drake Maye entered the New England Patriots locker room midway through the second quarter Sunday and did not return due to a head injury.
While it was not confirmed when Maye suffered the injury, it seemed to occur when the quarterback scrambled for an 18-yard gain with 56 seconds left in the first quarter. Maye remained in the game for the duration of the drive but entered into the blue medical tent after the Patriots punted the ball five plays later.
Maye was sacked three plays after he took a hit on his rushing attempt. Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood hit Maye in the back of the head as the rookie went into his slide. Sherwood was not called for a penalty on the play.

Patriots veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett replaced Maye on the ensuing offensive possession.
