Drake Maye Shows Support For Struggling Patriots Wide Receiver

The rookie is showing signs of being a vocal leader

The Patriots wide receiver room hasn’t been afraid to voice their frustration, and Drake Maye showed signs of leadership to quell the tension.

Ja’Lynn Polk and K.J. Osborn took to social media after New England’s loss last Sunday. The wide receivers’ cryptic posts didn’t seem to concern head coach Jerod Mayo, but Maye opened up this week about wanting to be more of a positive leader.

He made strides toward that when he shared Polk’s Instagram post Tuesday on his Instagram story. Polk’s post simply was a picture of himself captioned with “The Journey” along with the Bible verse John 13:7.

New England appears to be heading toward further dysfunction after Mayo’s “soft” callout and the backlash to it. It’s unknown what the reaction will be to the players’ frustrations, but Maye at least seems to be trying his best to keep the locker room together heading into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
