Judge has been ice cold in the batter's box
The New York Yankees have their backs against the wall, as they trail the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 in the 2024 World Series.
And to make matters worse for the Bronx Bombers, their best player has yet to show up to the Fall Classic.
Judge went a putrid 1-for-9 in the first two games of the best-of-seven series at Dodger Stadium. The American League MVP favorite struck out three times in both of New York’s losses to Los Angeles, which extended his streak of games with multiple punchouts to five.
Baseball fans unsurprisingly took Judge to task after his postseason woes continued Saturday evening. You can find a slew of social media jokes at Judge’s expense by clicking the link here.
The intense criticism was warranted. Judge hasn’t provided the Yankees much at all since the calendar flipped to October, as he owned a .150 batting average with 19 (!) strikeouts in 11 games. The six-time All-Star also only logged three extra-base hits over that span, a concerning number for a player whose .701 regular-season slugging percentage led all of baseball.
Perhaps more comfortable surroundings will help Judge break out of his funk. Aaron Boone’s side will be back at Yankee Stadium on Monday when it hosts the Dodgers for Game 3.
