The Boston Red Sox are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their legendary 2004 World Series championship.

The postseason included a historic comeback to conquer the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series before beating the St. Louis Cardinals to win Boston’s first World Series since 1918.

The Red Sox honored the 2004 team during the 2024 season’s home opener at Fenway Park. NESN.com also featured stories on the season’s turning points and will feature two more oral histories to commemorate the aforementioned playoff moments.

Netflix, in addition to following the team for the 2024 season, has put together a three-part docuseries focusing on the 2004 ballclub’s heroic run, which will be released in October to commemorate the championship.

The first trailer for “The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox” dropped on Wednesday, bringing plenty of intrigue to the project. You can catch the full trailer here.
