New York Postgame Crew Smashes Jets After Crushing Loss To Patriots

SNY's crew did not hold back

The New York Jets have every reason to be an elite team in the AFC. Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots showed why they’re not.

Steve Gelbs, Connor Rogers, Bart Scott and Willie Colon aired that frustration during SNY’s postgame coverage.

“The Jets season that began with Super Bowl expectations is over on Oct. 27,” Gelbs opened. “… We’ve been doing this together a long time. I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen a more inexcusable loss than the Jets game today against New England falling 25-22 against the Patriots. … There is no scenario where the Jets, playing for their season against a horrific New England Patriots team, should come down to four points that were left off the board because of their kicker. This is a team they should have dominated.”

The former Jets players on the desk dug in as well. Scott felt “disgusted” and saw no positives from New York as Colon called for the team to accept the well-deserved media criticism that comes with a 2-6 record with that type of roster.

SNY’s NFL reporter Connor Hughes made his thoughts on the Jets rather clear after the game at Gillette Stadium.

“They are coming off a loss to the lowly New England Patriots, who lost their starting quarterback in the second quarter (and) had absolutely no business sharing the field with the Jets and they lost,” Hughes said. “I don’t know where things go for the Jets now. I don’t know what they do. … Every week, instead of finding ways to win, the Jets are inventing new ways to lose.”

The Jets already had a talented roster and improved it over the last two weeks by adding pass-rusher Hasson Reddick, who ended his holdout this week, and wide receiver Davante Adams. They did not win in either of those weeks with losses to the Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Patriots travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans in Week 9 while the Jets host the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
