Patriots Legend Lays Out Tom Brady’s Value As Raiders Owner

'Tom knows talent better than anyone else'

Tom Brady became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday. Majority owner Mark Davis said the seven-time Super Bowl champion may not be able to play for the club, but he can certainly help them find their next star quarterback.

Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski laid out the value Brady brings to the Raiders franchise behind the scenes.

“Tom knows talent better than anyone else,” Gronkowski said on “Up & Adams” on Wednesday. “He knows how to evaluate a player. I remember just being one-on-one with him in meeting rooms, and he’s going over the guys that are covering me, and he can break them down in literally one or two minutes to the T.

“He can tell you their skill set, he can tell you their weaknesses, he can tell you their strengths. That’s what Tom brings big time to the table just being able to know the skill set of a guy and what type of player he is, what types of strengths and weaknesses the guy has, and what situations this guy will survive and thrive in as well.”

Brady officially has a 5% stake in the Raiders, and he said it is “a blessing to know I’ll be involved in the greatest league in the world for the rest of my life.” As part owner of the Raiders, Brady is expected to continue his analyst duties with FOX Sports but will have league-implemented restrictions on his broadcasting career.

Fellow Patriots legend and three-time Super Bowl champion Richard Seymour also purchased a minority stake in the Raiders. Seymour said he was “deeply grateful — humbled and honored — to become an NFL owner.”
