Patriots Showed These Building-Block Traits In Win Vs. Jets

New England responded in the right way

The New England Patriots showed both response and resiliency during their 25-22 victory over the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

During the latest episode of NESN’s “Foxboro Rush,” George Balekji and Jahmai Webster were joined by NESN.com’s Keagan Stiefel and unpacked New England’s win over Aaron Rodgers and company.

All three agreed the Patriots showed building-block traits.

“This is a team that needed to respond,” Balekji said. “All the attention was on them, all the narratives, everyone calling them soft. And if they lost, which they were on track to, it would have been, ‘Well, they didn’t run the ball that well. The Jets running backs did run all over them.’

“It’s not playoff-win equivalent, it’s not season-saving. But it says a lot about the resiliency in that locker room. It says a lot about these players responding well to Jerod Mayo. … For them to respond the way they did, with a team that is reeling, and you just wanted to see competent football, and they showed that today.”
