Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn seems unhappy in New England.
Osborn, who signed a one-year deal with the Patriots during the offseason, confirmed as much with his social media activity after New England’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The 27-year-old wideout reposted a screenshot of a text message from Brandon Abdala, who presents himself on social media as a sports agent but is not Osborn’s agent, per Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi.
Abdala’s message to Osborn referenced the receiver’s situation. Osborn amplified the message when he reposted it to his own Instagram account.
“Being proud of you is an understatement!” the message read. “From being told you would be inactive Wednesday and only taking 3 reps all week in practice.. to being told you’re activated at 11 pm on Saturday night! And going in the game at another position.. across the world in London!! You held your composure and did what a pro does.
The message continued: “I’m with you while we figure out this situation and every other no matter you can count on me till the end.”

Fellow wideout Ja’Lynn Polk also posted a since-deleted tweet hinting at his discontent.
Osborn has dropped down the wide receiver depth chart in recent weeks. He started the first four games of the season but was inactive in Week 5 and did not see the field in Week 6. Osborn saw an uptick in action against the Jaguars — he played 37% of snaps — but that workload might have been reserved for DeMario Douglas if he hadn’t been limited due to illness. Osborn’s snaps came mostly after Douglas was sidelined.
Osborn did take advantage of the opportunity with two catches for 26 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

With Osborn on a one-year deal and the Patriots not competing in 2024, now compounded with his social media activity, Osborn feels like a name to keep an eye on before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
