Bruins Honor Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen With Tribute, Ovation In Visit

Boston had multiple returns Tuesday night

BOSTON — Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen both gave the Bruins valuable efforts before departing for the Vancouver Canucks over the summer in free agency.

The pair returned to Boston for the first time with Vancouver for Tuesday night’s matchup midway through the first period. The Bruins played video tributes while the TD Garden crowd provided proper ovations for the former Boston players.

DeBrusk stepped up as a postseason scoring threat and played seven seasons for the Bruins with 138 career goals during that span. He’s already tallied five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 19 games with the Canucks.

Heinen posted 139 points for the Bruins across a five-year tenure in Boston with 10 points in 19 games to start his time with the Canucks.

Former Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort missed the game in Boston with a lower-body injury.
