Did 2004 Red Sox Champion Bring House Down on ‘Masked Singer?’

Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series champion Bronson Arroyo put his glove away seven years ago when he retired from MLB. But Arroyo hasn’t put down his guitar.

Arroyo, who was known for his musical talent while with the Red Sox and sang backup vocals on the Dropkick Murphys song “Tessie,” headlines his own band in retirement.

And it appears Arroyo performed on a very big stage Wednesday night.

Clues like bullpen and curse pointed to Arroyo being behind the Sherlock Hound costume on the “Masked Singer.” It hasn’t been officially confirmed that it was Arroyo, but if it is indeed him, he brought the house down by singing Miley Cyrus’ “Used To Be Young.”

Arroyo pitched 16 seasons in the big leagues, including three years with the Red Sox. He had some big moments in a Boston uniform, including hitting Alex Rodriguez with a pitch during the 2004 regular season which started a brawl between the Red Sox and Yankees as well as Rodriguez knocking the ball out of his glove in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series that year.

The identity of the Sherlock Hound singer won’t be revealed on the show until eliminated or wins the entire competition.
