Drake Maye Made Big Gesture To Patriots Teammates Before Rams Game

Maye continues to showcase great leadership

Patriots offensive linemen ate well on Drake Maye’s dime Monday night.

After New England’s convincing road win over the Chicago Bears last Sunday, Maye made dinner plans with his pass protectors as he celebrated his second win as a starting quarterback. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Maye and company intend to make the Monday meal a weekly tradition and use the dining as a way to “build chemistry and learn more about each other off the field.”

Maye, who continues to showcase tremendous leadership in his rookie season, got the ball rolling on the inaugural night out by picking up the entire bill, per Reiss. While a free dinner is nice, the 22-year-old’s presence at the table seemingly meant the most to New England linemen.

“It’s a big thing for us to get with our guy outside of the work environment and build more continuity with him. At the end of the day, it makes our relationship stronger,” left tackle Vederian Lowe told Reiss.

The Patriots will be hoping to celebrate another win when they meet for their next linemen dinner. New England on Sunday will host the 4-5 Los Angeles Rams, who will be vying to avenge their Week 10 loss and stay afloat in the very competitive NFC playoff race.
