The alternate uniform drew mixed reviews
BOSTON — The Boston Celtics will debut the latest version of their “City Edition” jerseys Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden.
The official reveal of the uniform, which features neon green lettering on a black top and shorts, drew mixed reviews.
Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla weighed in on the debate prior to tip-off against the Raptors and it’s clear what side he’s on when it comes to the uniform.
“Yeah, they’re nice,” Mazzulla said.
What exactly does Mazzulla like about the alternate jersey?
“They say Celtics on them,” Mazzulla said.
That’s a typical, on-brand reaction from Mazzulla, using eight words to talk about something that has no impact on Boston’s on-court performance.
Saturday’s game won’t be the only time the Celtics will don the “City Edition” jerseys. They are slated to wear them several times throughout the course of the season and presumably will generate the same reaction out of Mazzulla each time.
