One Big Takeaway As Blues Exact Revenge On Bruins

BOSTON — The Blues got their revenge.

The Bruins secured perhaps the best win of their season on Tuesday, as they erased a two-goal deficit to snag a win at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

Can you guess what happened when those two teams met Saturday at TD Garden?

Yep, pretty much the exact opposite, with St. Louis erasing a third-period deficit to secure a come-from-behind victory over Boston.

Trent Frederic and Charlie McAvoy were called for penalties just seconds apart to close the second period, which led to a four-on-three scenario entering the final stanza. The B’s had also registered just 10 shots on goal to that point, and while it took a minute, their lack of offensive zone pressure came back to bite them when Blues forward Nathan Walker’s snipe tied the game midway through the period.

The Bruins held on for overtime, but it was only a matter of time before Brayden Schenn scored the game-winning goal to exact revenge and earn a 3-2 victory for the away team.

Boston moved to 8-8-3 on the season with the loss, which is somehow still good for third in the Atlantic Division. It won’t be for long, though.
