Patriots Injury Report: Wide Receiver Surprisingly Absent From Practice

New England's defensive front isn't in great shape, either

Tyquan Thornton is trending in the wrong direction. The New England Patriots wide receiver has been a healthy scratch for four out of the last five games.

And Thornton, surprisingly, wasn’t out on the practice field Thursday.

The Patriots revealed why when they released their injury report later in the day. Thornton isn’t injured but missed the practice session due to personal reasons.

New England’s defensive line is still in the same troubling spot it was on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. both missed practice for the second straight day ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots did get a lift from that unit with Christian Barmore practicing in limited fashion for the first time since being diagnosed with blood clots.

The Los Angeles Rams added a few new names to their injury report Thursday. Defensive end Kobie Turner (back), safety Quentin Lake (groin) and cornerback Josh Wallace (hip) joined linebacker Byron Young (knee) as limited participants.

Starting right tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle) and his backup Joe Noteboom (ankle), along with nose tackle Neville Gallimore (neck) and cornerback Charles Woods (ankle), all remained sidelined for a second straight day.
