New Patriots Signing Among Three Roster Moves At Key Position

Titus Leo is headed to New England

The New England Patriots shook up their linebacker room with a trio of roster moves.

New England on Tuesday announced it signed linebacker Titus Leo to its 53-man roster. A 2023 sixth-round pick, Leo spent the first 11 weeks on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad after he was released following the 53-man roster crunch. He hasn’t played an NFL game.

The Patriots also placed linebacker Curtis Jacobs on injured reserved and released fellow linebacker Ochaun Mathis.

Jacobs, who exited New England’s Week 11 loss with a head injury, played in nine games (two starts) this season. He was claimed off waivers after the Kansas City Chiefs released the 22-year-old in late August.

Mathis originally signed to New England’s practice squad before he was elevated to the 53-man roster Oct. 29. The sixth-round pick played five games with the Patriots.
