Bill Belichick Reportedly Interviews For College Coaching Job

Perhaps Belichick will be wearing North Carolina blue in the near future

Bill Belichick is throwing his hat back in the ring.

Belichick interviewed for the head coaching job at North Carolina this week, as first reported by Inside Carolina on Thursday.

The Tar Heels fired legendary college coach Mack Brown on Nov. 26. Other candidates for the North Carolina job include Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall and Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann, per Inside Carolina.

The 72-year-old Belichick was fired by the New England Patriots after the 2023 NFL season. Belichick spent 24 years with the Patriots organization and won six Super Bowls. He compiled a 266-121 regular-season record.

Belichick interviewed for the Falcons head coaching job last offseason before Atlanta hired Raheem Morris. Belichick has spent the 2024 NFL season working in the media with a number of different outlets.

Should Belichick not land (or decline) the North Carolina job, there are other NFL positions which could make sense for the future Hall of Famer.
