Is Kristaps Porzingis’ Latest Injury Worrisome For Celtics?

Porzinigs played only 11 minutes on Sunday

Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis exited Boston’s game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday with a foot injury.

Porzingis provided an encouraging update after Boston’s win, but should this latest injury be worrisome for the Celtics?

NESN’s Ountae Campbell and George Balekji discussed Porzinigis’ heel injury in Wednesday’s episode of “Hold My Banner.”

“Will this continue to be a pattern for this team where guys are continuously missing time?” Campbell asked. “I thought after they got this little break from the NBA Cup where they’re playing only three games in about two weeks or a week and a half, a little bit slower pace that this would be a good time for guys to rest up, but we’re seeing him, and maybe some other guys are missing games still here and there and that’s making me a little worried for their championship prowess.”

Porzingis only returned to the court a few weeks ago after missing the beginning of the season while recovering from foot surgery over the summer. In Boston’s game against Washington, he was 5-for-6 from the field, scoring 11 points across 11 minutes. The good news for the Celtics is that the injury isn’t related to anything that has kept him sidelined previously in his career.
