Juan Soto Rumors: Yankees ‘Comfortable’ With Free Agent Talks

Will the Yankees see Soto walk away?

Juan Soto controls the direction of the MLB offseason with suitors from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees to the New York Mets contending for his future.

The New York Yankees technically serve as the incumbent in this race after Soto dawned the pinstripes in the 2024 season. YES Network’s Jack Curry shared insight on how the Bronx Bombers currently factor into the Soto sweepstakes.

“He’s the biggest fish in the ocean and the Yankees would love to have that reunion with Soto,” Curry shared on “Yankees Hot Stove” Monday. “… They have had several productive conversations. They have obviously exchanged offers about money. This is going to be a mega contract.”

Curry added that Soto could break Shohei Ohtani’s “real value” record of $46 million per year in his potential deal.

“The Yankees have been very comfortable with the presentation and the process they have had with Soto,” Curry added. “They feel they’ve made this a priority. They have put their best foot forward. They say that they are comfortable with whatever decision he ends up making because they feel that they have sent the message to him.”

Soto sounds ready to make a decision before the end of the Winter Meetings.
