Why Red Sox Fans Should Pay Attention To Kyle Tucker Market

Tucker and Alex Bregman could be indirectly linked

The Boston Red Sox are linked to Alex Bregman, but the two-time All-Star’s former teammate might have a big influence on him.

Kyle Tucker is a popular name in the trade market. The Houston Astros are entertaining a trade for the star outfielder, who is a year away from free agency. What they’ll get in return for the World Series champion depends on who is willing to do business with them.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi highlighted an interesting hypothetical that could affect Bregman. If the Astros trade Tucker to the Chicago Cubs for Seiya Suzuki, Houston might be more willing to bring back the 30-year-old. However, if they got a player like Isaac Paredes in return, then it’d be willing to move on.

The New York Yankees are in the mix for Tucker and Bregman. They certainly could get both, but Boston’s chances of landing Bregman could increase if the Bronx Bombers execute a trade for Tucker.

There’s a lot up in the air as the Red Sox try to acquire a right-handed bat to balance out the lineup. Morosi noted that Bregman’s willingness to play second base makes him a good fit for Boston, and manager Alex Cora praised the star infielder during MLB winter meetings.

It seemed like Bregman would be the next big free agent to sign a new deal, but teams might be waiting on the Astros to make a move with Tucker.
