Belichick to Las Vegas?
The Raiders are exhausting their head coaching options, reportedly reaching out to North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick.
Las Vegas reportedly inquired about whether the legendary coach would reconsider his move to college football, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. Raiders minority owner Tom Brady was the one who reportedly spoke with his old coach about what it would take to make a reunion happen — as did multiple other teams.
Belichick and Brady are familiar with each other, in case you haven’t heard.
Belichick returning to the NFL is an interesting proposition, as he denounced any interest in making a move at his introductory press conference for North Carolina in December.
UNC included a $10 million buyout in the 72-year-old’s contract, which would trigger if he leaves before June 1, 2025. The Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars have been floated as potential options, with that one phone call making it seem all the more likely.
