Should Bruins Look To Make Roster Improvements At Trade Deadline?

The trade deadline is March 7

The Boston Bruins are currently out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but only one point separates them from the second wild-card team.

The Eastern Conference is so jam-packed that on any given night, teams move up and down the standings and in and out of a playoff spot. So, should the Bruins look to improve their roster at the March 7 trade deadline or take the path of “retooling” for the future?

Adam Pellerin and Judd Sirott discussed the Bruins’ current situation on the latest episode of NESN’s “The Hockey Hub” podcast.

The duo reflected on the difficult situation facing the general manager Don Sweeney and president Cam Neely as they determine how to approach the deadline.

“One of the things that Cam Neely had mentioned, and I think it’s important to add this nuance,” Sirott said. “The quote from Cam Neely, ‘We certainly don’t want to jeopardize getting out of the playoffs because we made some moves that may be good for the future but not good for the present.’ I do think that’s very difficult.”
