Bruins Prospect Giving Boston Fans Plenty Of Reasons To Be Excited

It easy to like what this prospect brings to the ice

The Boston Bruins got a closer look at a handful of youngsters over the final stretch of the regular season with the playoffs out of reach.

Fraser Minten, who the Bruins acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs at the NHL trade deadline for Brandon Carlo, got the call-up and just might be the most exciting of all the prospects in Boston’s system.

During the latest episode of NESN’s “The Hockey Hub” podcast, Kasey Hudson explained why there’s so much to like about Minten’s game and what he can bring to the Bruins going forward.

“Minten, I’m excited about because he’s so calm, he’s so composed and he just has this cadence and swagger to him even though he doesn’t have this boisterous personality,” Hudson said. “But the way that he is relentless around the net is just something to be so excited about. A guy that can polish things off. He’s got a really quick release as well, so he’s not overthinking any sort of play, which means he’s getting a lot more shots forward.”

The 20-year-old forward obviously caught the eyes of the Bruins brass as Minten, who was a 2022 second-round pick of the Maple Leafs and registered 31 goals and 36 assists for the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL in the 2022-23 campaign, played in 15 games for Toronto this season.

The Bruins gave Minten six games at the NHL level to showcase his talent. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound centerman scored one goal and did enough to entice the Boston fan base about what he can develop into in the future.
