The Boston star is expected to be ready for the C's postseason run
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown reportedly took action for a continuing ailment this week.
According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne on Saturday, Brown received pain management injections in his knee in an effort to promote healing before the NBA playoffs began. The 2024 NBA Finals MVP is expected to be ready for the C’s first-round playoff series next week.
Brown dealt with a bone bruise in his knee for multiple weeks. It forced him to miss the second half of Boston’s win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. And the All-Star guard sat out Thursday’s loss to the Orlando Magic and Friday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets. Missing those games meant Brown is ineligible for any end-of-season awards and achievements due to not playing in 65 games.
Kristaps Porzingis urged his teammate to rest so that he could be healthy for the Celtics’ repeat chase, and it seems like the All-NBA guard took that advice to heart. Brown averaged 22.2 points in 63 games this season, which was his lowest mark since the 2019-20 season, but he averaged a career-high 4.5 assists per game.
Boston will need Brown at full strength as it awaits who earns the No. 7 seed in the NBA play-in games.
