Brad Marchand Rival Cuts Hilarious Promo Ahead Of Panthers-Leafs

Biz might have a future in pro wrestling

Playing in the NHL didn’t totally work out for Paul Bissonnette, but his post-playing career has been impressive. If the media thing falls apart, though, he might have a future in professional wrestling.

The former Phoenix Coyotes tough guy has turned himself into a media sensation, largely because of his Barstool Sports podcast and his work as an analyst on TNT. And since hanging up the skates, the Welland, Ontario, native has been more than willing to show his longtime love for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Enter Brad Marchand.

The former Bruins captain has been a major thorn in the side of Bissonnette and all Leafs fans over the course of his career. It basically had become a rite of spring in Boston for the B’s to send Toronto packing in the playoffs throughout Marchand’s time in the Hub.

Now that he’s in Florida playing for the Panthers, Marchand might be wearing a different sweater, but he can still try to torment Toronto once again.

A borderline maniacal Bissonnette, doing his best Scott Steiner impression, laid down the gauntlet Thursday night after Toronto survived the Ottawa Senators in a thrilling Game 6 win.

“Brad Marchand, my arch f—— nemesis,” Bissonnette says in a video posted to X. “I’m going to take you down once and for all. You hear me, Brad? You’re going down. You’re going down, buddy! Put the war paint on because it’s go time. It’s our year. Go Leafs go! Go Leafs go! Yes!”

(You can watch the whole video here, but it’s probably best to do so out of earshot of the kids.)

It’s all in relative good fun, of course. Marchand and Bissonnette have traded barbs over the years, with the former typically getting the best of the latter — on and off the ice.

Game 1 of the Toronto-Florida series still hasn’t been announced, but it’s safe to assume there will be plenty of interest from Boston, too, with more than just Leafs schadenfreude on the line.
