Patriots Were On Right Side Of History With ‘Tush Push’ Vote
Robert Kraft voted against banning the 'tush push'
The NFL will have to contend with the “tush push” once again in 2025.
The Green Bay Packers proposed to ban the play — which the Philadelphia Eagles made famous — but the proposal failed to pass Wednesday at the owners’ meetings in Eagan, Minnesota. The proposal — which needed 24 votes to pass — received 22 out of 32 votes, falling two short of approval.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was one of the owners who voted against banning the play.
Keagan Stiefel, who was welcomed onto the latest episode of “Foxboro Rush” on Wednesday, says that puts him on the right side of history.
“Kraft got it right,” Stiefel said. “I absolutely detest the idea of banning a play because no one can stop it. If you hate the play, hire a fat guy to plug the gaps. Or, you can find a quarterback who squats a Mini Cooper and have him convert every time. It would have set a horrible precedent if they banned it, so I’m glad they didn’t.”
