Bruins’ Second Round Draft Pick Has Interesting Skill

The new Bruins prospect plays piano

The Boston Bruins drafted William Moore in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft on Saturday afternoon.

Moore is not only good at hockey, but he is also musically talented.

The No. 51 pick is a skilled piano player who won the Little Mozarts International Competition. At just 10 years old, he performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

“I like Beethoven,” Moore told NHL.com’s Jon Paul Morosi in April. “I play a lot of Chopin too. I played (Beethoven’s) Piano Sonata No. 6 in F major for a while. My billets have a piano, so I can sit down whenever and relieve stress, play the music.”

Moore is the first one in his family to play hockey, growing up in the Greater Toronto Area. He will head to Boston College in the fall along with five other Bruins prospects.

He is a left-shot center, standing at 6-foot-2 and 174 pounds. Moore scored 21 points in 25 games for the USNTDP junior team in the USHL. He also tallied 11 points in seven games for Team USA in the 2025 World Junior Championship U18 tournament.

“Does a bit of everything, from high-end plays right down to the finest details,” Elite Prospects said about the new Boston prospect. “In his best games, he manipulates defenders with driving crossover rushes, lands look-off passes, crashes the net, and puts on a down-low clinic with possession. He drives wide, gets the defender to follow, and then instantly cuts inside for a better look.”
