New Photo Of Bruins Top Two Draft Picks Will Gets Fans Hyped

Boston had a busy drafted weekend

The Boston Bruins were busy during the 2025 NHL Draft, as they ended up making seven picks and swinging a handful of trades along the way. Of course, the pick that everyone is most excited about is center James Hagens, who was selected No. 7 overall.

In a loaded center class, Hagens fell to Boston at No. 7, and they quickly scooped him up in hopes that he can become a first-line stalwart for them in the future. At just 18 years old, Hagens likely will play another season of college hockey before jumping to the NHL, but he won’t have to go far, as he plays for the Boston College Eagles.

With their first pick on the second day of the draft, the Bruins selected another Boston College prospect in center William Moore with the No. 51 overall pick. While Moore hasn’t played for the Eagles yet, having only recently committed to play for them, he could conceivably team up with Hagens next year.

Given the quick connection these two have, B’s fans were excited to see them both land with Boston. That excitement grew when Hagens and Moore linked up for a photo in Los Angeles during draft weekend.

Hagens starred at Boston College this past season, as he racked up 11 goals and 26 assists in 37 games, which helped him earn a spot on the Hockey East All-Rookie team. Hagens also won a gold medal at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships as part of the United States team.

Moore spent last season playing with the US National Development Program. In 64 games, he tallied 27 goals and 32 assists, proving he’s ready to make the jump to BC. Considering how some folks viewed him as a late first-round prospect, this was a great value selection for the Bruins.

With both only being 18 years old, it will likely be a while before they are making contributions at the NHL level. However, the addition of some top-tier prospects is precisely what this team needed.

With the draft in the rearview mirror, Boston’s front office will turn their attention to free agency, which is set to get underway on July 1 at 12 p.m. ET.
