Marchand is a two-time Stanley Cup champion
While the majority of Boston Bruins fans are happy for Brad Marchand, the images showing a jubilant Marchand hoisting Lord Stanley in a Florida Panthers sweater still feel weird.
Marchand, who spent 16 seasons in Black and Gold before being traded in March, now is a two-time Stanley Cup champion. Marchand and the Panthers bested the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals, claiming the best-of-seven series 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Here are some of the images of Marchand celebrating, which might hit Bruins fans hard:
Speaking on the ice amid the celebration, an emotional Marchand had a hard time putting the experience into words.
āItās a feeling you canāt really describe,ā Marchand told TNT. āSeeing the family and everyone up there, everyone thatās supported me and helped me get to this point, thereās nothing ā words canāt put this into reality. How great it feels.ā
The Bruins received a first-round pick in their trade for Marchand, but the Panthers figure to be thrilled with their end of the deal, too.
