Former Red Sox Pitcher Traded From Dodgers To Twins, Report Says

Pitchers are in high demand ahead of the MLB trade deadline

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Noah Davis is packing his bags — again.

“Twins have acquired RHP Noah Davis from the Dodgers for cash, and assigned him to AAA St. Paul,” The Minnesota Star Tribune’s Paul Miller reported Monday. “In 57 1/3 career innings for Rockies and Dodgers, Davis has struck out 51, but also walked 28, and has a career 8.95 ERA.”

“Noah Davis’ final appearance for the Dodgers: He allowed 10 runs in the sixth inning vs Astros on July 4, including a grand slam to Victor Caratini and a 3-run HR to Jose Altuve,” Miller added.

Red Sox fans may remember Davis’ brief stay in the Boston organization. The 28-year-old signed a minor-league deal with the Red Sox in late December.

But just three months later while finalizing the Opening Day roster, the Red Sox traded Davis to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations.

The right-hander began his MLB journey in 2018 as an 11th-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds. Three years later, the Reds traded Davis to the Colorado Rockies.

Davis made his MLB debut in 2021 and spent parts of three seasons in Denver, making a total of 23 appearances, including six starts.

The Newport Beach, Calif. native five appearances this season for the Dodgers, posting an unsightly 19.50 ERA after giving up 13 earned runs in just six innings of work. Davis allowed three home runs while walking six batters.

Should he make it back to The Show, Davis would get a chance to pitch for former Red Sox outfielder Rocco Baldelli, who’s now the manager of the Twins.

It was another former Boston outfielder-turned-manager, Dave Roberts, who watched Davis struggle this season during his brief time with the Dodgers.
